1950's Slingerland 4.5x13 Radio King Snare Drum
3-Ply Mahogany shell with maple re-rings
Dog Tag Badge dates this beauty to the early-mid 1950's
Overall this drum is in very good condition.
The shell is structurally sound, free of extra holes, and in good working order. .
Wrap is holding well at the seams and free of cracks/pulling.
Finish shows even aging around the drum and is in clean condition.
There are some mild scratches & one stain near the wrap seam, possibly glue.
Nickel hardware is in good working order and appears to be all original.
Drum features Radio King stamped nickel over brass hoops. A few minor dings.
Smooth 3 point strainer that adjusts nicely and stays engaged while playing.
Nickel finish shows some patina and wear but overall looks good. Tension rods show rust.
Snare wires are not original and have some bending.
Shell features clean original bearing edges. Edges are smooth & take modern heads nicely.
Mahogany interior shows some standard Slingerland inner ply separation.
A bit of excess glue present on the inner seam.
Complete and ready to go.
